MAUREEN THATCHER

Senior Environmental Project Officer

Maureen is an Environmental Scientist (B.Sc.) having graduated in 2006. Maureen is a member of the Soil Science Australia and Work Place Clearance Group (WPCG) and holds a Commissioner for Declarations (No. 65494) qualification, current St John’s First Aid Certificate and Queensland Health Radiation Use License (for operation of Field Portable X-ray Fluorescence Analyser). Maureen is also experienced in application of quality control and Workplace Health and Safety requirements in all aspects of environmental projects.

Further, Maureen has gained considerable experience in contaminated land investigations on projects involving sawmills, sugar mills, service station sites, fuel storage facilities and cattle dips in both Queensland and New South Wales following recognized contaminated land legislation, guidelines and Australian Standards, including:

◗ Acquisition of statutory and site history information.
◗ Preparation of site specific sampling plans, workplace health & safety plans, remediation plans and site management plans.
◗ Planning and undertaking field works (including soil and water sampling) throughout all aspects from preliminary site investigations to remediation / validation.
◗ Collating and disseminating field data and site history information.
◗ Preparing Site Management Plans and Remediation Action Plans.
◗ Writing reports to DEHP Waste & Land Contamination Assessment standards.
